Versace Versense - Fragrance Review

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Versace’s new fragrance Versense is inspired by nature’s elements, promising balance of the senses and revitalization of energy. Dubbed as “a promise for the senses”, this fragrance for women marries the freshness of Mediterranean notes and contemporary bouquet to bring out the fusion of sensuality and glamour that marks the Versace woman of today.

Fresh yet intoxicating, Versense opens up with fresh notes of bergamot and mandarin orange then develops into a stunning balance of floral notes featuring jasmine, sea daffodil and cardamom. The dry down combines the warmth emanated by cedar wood, sandal wood, olive tree and musk. The juice is housed in a transparent bottle embossed with Versace’s signature insignia and the juice comes in a luminous color of light green.

At first sniff, Versense is redolent of green floral notes. Light and airy notes arising from bergamot and orange notes decorate the top. The floral notes in the middle are somewhat neutered and barely there. The musk notes counter the green-ness of the fragrance and the dry down evokes a feeling of sophistication and quiet elegance that perfectly fits the days of summer.

The sheer character of Versense is similar to that of Versace’s Bright Crystal. Although these two are not in any way similar in olfactive experience – Bright Crystal is in the sweet-soft-floral category whereas Versense permeates more of the green accords and the floral notes are hushed. Both fragrances are considered light and the sillage is very feminine. It is long lasting despite being in the EDT formulation.

Versense is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml EDT and the collection also includes a full line of body products such as body lotion (for layering) and shower gel.

Versace Perfumes: Bright Crystal and Crystal Noir

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Versace’s Crystal fragrances make a grand opulent statement with an impressionable bottle topped with a crystal-cut stopper. The scent bespeaks the Versace style which caters to the elegant socialites and the chic urban trendsetters. Each Crystal defines a pleasant floriental fragrance that typifies the modern Versace woman of today.

Versace Crystal Noir resembles a garden of white floral sprinkled with fruit notes, amber, sandalwood and musk. It’s a light fragrance embellished with a unique depth projecting a sexy, sultry and enigmatic appeal. This scent is quietly potent and ironically, overt with a highly compelling openness. According to one perfumista, “A lovely dark rendition of gardenia, creamy & a bit of green, not too heavy & sweet like they can be.. Definitely sensuous & tropical, clear but rich like syrup. Like a warm clear night in the tropics, full moon & light breeze.” Its presence emanates from the subtle notes that develop over time; kudos to the richness of amber and musk at the base that diffuses into a lovely essence of depth and darkness – qualities that make Crystal Noir so intoxicatingly sensual.

Versace Bright Crystal is a playful mix of florals and citrus, pleasant and incredibly sparkling. If Crystal Noir is made for fiery evening affairs, Bright Crystal, on the one hand, sets the stage for the perfect daytime perfume. Sublime, innocent and young in many ways, this fragrance transforms the precious and beautiful flowers into a musky-ambery dry down without being too heady. It’s well-blended and the notes don’t get lost in a cacophony of discord of florals and musk.

Both fragrances have above-average longevity. To appreciate its beauty, let the fragrance do its magic on your skin over time. The unexpected surprise and the sexy aroma of Versace perfumes are labeled as man-magnet.

From femme fatale to a quietly demure woman, Versace Crystal Noir and Bright Crystal captured these two contrasting characteristics into two extraordinary fragrances that truly define your fancy.
